Victoria’s 2024–25 Skilled Migration Program: Your Gateway to Opportunity

Victoria has once again opened its doors to skilled talent from around the world — and this year’s State Migration Program brings fresh opportunities for those ready to build their future in Australia’s innovation capital.

What’s New

The 2025–26 program offers 5,000 nomination places (same as FY 2024-25) 3,000 for the Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa 2,000 for the Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) visa

Victoria’s 2025–26 Skilled Migration Program: Seize the Interim Opportunity

Victoria is ready for global talent and this year, an interim allocation means a limited number of nominations are already available, even before the full quotas are confirmed.

What’s the Interim Allocation?

The Australian Government has granted Victoria a small interim allocation for the 2025–26 program:

  • 200 places for the Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa
  • 180 places for the Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) visa

These slots act as a “bridge” allowing Victoria to start nominating applicants early, while awaiting its full allocation.

Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and a Registration of Interest (ROI) via Live in Melbourne. Selections are competitive and prioritise candidates with strong English, relevant experience, and alignment with Victoria’s key growth sectors — including health, education, construction, digital technology, and advanced manufacturing.

Why Choose Victoria

Victoria isn’t just a place to live — it’s a state that values your skills and ambition. Whether you’re drawn to Melbourne’s vibrant economy or the lifestyle and career potential of regional Victoria, the program offers genuine pathways to permanent residency.

With record population growth and a government actively investing in innovation, housing, and jobs, Victoria is building a future that welcomes global talent — like you — to help shape it.

Take the Next Step

If you’re planning your migration journey:

  1. Keep your EOI and ROI updated
  2. Focus on priority industries
  3. Watch for the next nomination round when the 2025–26 program opens

Victoria is ready to grow and this is your moment to grow with it.
